TWELVE HOURS of INTENSIVE INSTRUCTION
Devote constructive energy to the building of your technique and repertoire this year.
Develop and implement technique; apply technique and theory to new, challenging pieces--classical or popular. Direct your focus on a favorite music genre or composer if you wish.
COMPOSE and TRANSPOSE! Your composing of--and transposing of--pieces of music
will be a conduit to TRUE COMPREHENSION OF KEY SIGNATURES (as well as their relative majors/minors). Preface each piece with the appropriate scale during lesson.
Work to achieve fluency of your scales and accuracy of your timing.
BAND and ORCHESTRA STUDENTS~~
PRIVATE INSTRUCTION TO AUGMENT SCHOOL BAND INSTRUCTION
Follow school band lesson plan with your private teacher, and stay one lesson ahead.
Catch up with your band/orchestra section or surpass present level next school year.
School Band director will notice and appreciate your new, disciplined approach to band!
Prepare to audition for Regionals, Berkshire League, Youth Symphony Orchestra, etc.
Develop stronger music reading skills and an immediate recognition of key signatures.
